We understand that applying through Clearing can feel overwhelming, but with our straightforward steps, it doesn’t have to be! Here’s what you need to know to make a direct application through Clearing at UCFB.

Did you know that through Clearing you can apply to the university directly without going through UCAS?

As the world’s first football and sports university, UCFB has placed 93% of our graduates in employment within six to nine months of graduation, with nearly two thirds working in sport.

If you’ve decided that Clearing is the next step for you, see our guide to applying below. If you would like more guidance on the Clearing process read our What is Clearing and How it Works guidance.

Can I apply for Clearing before my results?

Clearing opened on 5th July! You can apply through Clearing now! Did you know Clearing is not just for A-Level results day? From 5th July, if you have received your results, awaiting results, or found you haven’t got the results you were hoping for, or if you have simply changed your mind about your future, we’re here to help.

How do you apply through Clearing?

Call UCFB's Clearing hotline is 0204 581 7193, apply directly through our simple form online and you can also reach us via email at and chat to us live.

Have your questions ready to ask the Clearing Team advisors when you call, we are here to support your next steps.

Can I apply through Clearing if I hold an offer from another University?

If you’ve had a change of heart and believe a UCFB undergraduate course would help you reach your #CareerGoals you can still apply! Fill out the Clearing form or call our team to apply.

Prior to results day, once you have received your unconditional offer from UCFB, you will need to contact your university admissions team where you received a firm offer and ask to be released into Clearing.

You will then be able to add us as a Clearing choice on your UCAS Hub. From 1:00pm on 15th August, you can release yourself into Clearing via the UCAS Hub – super easy!

In short, you can’t apply through Clearing if you already have an offer as it is only an available option if you didn’t receive any offers, or none you wanted to accept, or you didn’t meet the conditions of your offers. This makes Clearing the perfect time to apply to secure a place at university in 2024!

What are the next steps after applying through Clearing?

Once you have submitted your Clearing application, then it's time for our team to kick into action. Our Clearing team are here to make your application stand out, but we will need your help!

Start digging out your result transcripts for your GCSE Math's and English (or equivalent), and your Level 3 qualifications. We need to see clear copies of these that include your name.

We do look at each application individually so if you have a few points less than the course requirements, but have years of experience relevant to the degree you’re applying for, send us an up-to-date CV.

Once your application is ready to go, we’ll send it to admissions for the final check and from there it could be an unconditional offer. Time to celebrate!

What happens after I receive an Unconditional Offer?

Come and see UCFB in person! Clearing can be quite a whirlwind experience, so we want to ensure that you are making the best decision for you.
